☆ BILL'S RECOVERY!
:) That definitely brightens up my day. It can pretty well brighten up my whole freaking week. And I'm pretty sure my happiness and relief can generate enough energy to power a small country. Haha, I exaggerate. But really, he went through the operation today successfully, and the doctor said that he'll be fine. Currently, he's still resting at home. And the sweetest thing is Tomi cooking for him, waiting on him, not exactly hand and foot, but still, joy. It's also seriously funny that Tom's the only one yakking his head off because Bill's in no position to speak. In fact, it was so bad, Tom's yakking, that Bill actually wrote, 'Shut your fuckin' mouth' with eyeliner. D: Dead, Bill, you totally killed me. Seriously man, ILY so much. And yes, I have like become an utter rabid fangirl. My life's complete now.
☆ Tsubasa RESERVoir Chronicles
I know, it's pretty old and all already, but I stumbled onto pretty pretty pretty KuroxFai fanart and icons which are so damn pretty. But still, I don't really like Sakura... But I love Fai, he's the perfect ebil, scheming uke. And Kuro's the grumpiest seme to grace the anime world.
☆ Livejournal
Okay, I got both my accounts at livejournal settled. Yes, it's finalized, I'm shifting to LJ officially on my new account because LJ is fucked in the sense that it has stopped all set up of basic accounts, forcing us to choose between plus and paid accounts. So, ravenxeve which is a basic account will remain untouched, while rxe_lyn is my new plus account. Yeah, I'll need people to relink me and all. More details later. :)
☆ Portfolio
Yay, I got my portfolio done for the CAP thing. :) It feels nice to have a portfolio, like some professional writer which I'm not, haha. Yeah, it's entirely in poems because I frankly have never finished a prose piece on my own. I'm always too ambitious and lazy.
☆ Sweeney Todd soundtrack
Yeah, just downloaded this recently. The songs are just so great, and I don't think I can pick out my favourites due to the awesomeness of this soundtrack.
☆ The Light-Bearer's Daughter by O.R.Melling
Just borrowed it from the library, I haven't exactly read it yet, but I know I'm going to love it. I mean, a story about the Fae folk incorporated in contemporary times, how can't I not love it? Her previous two books were brilliant as well, so I have high hopes for this third story in the series.

☆ The Hush Sound
The first song that I heard from this alternative rock band was Lighthouse from the album Like Vines and I immediately loved that song. It was sort of creepy in a way, the goosebumps rising up and shivers down your spine sort of an afterthought, and I'm glad to say that the rest of the songs on Like Vines are equally lovely. Not spine-chilling, but very mellow for some. It seems that everyone takes turns to sing lead vocals for different songs which is very unique, cos normal bands will only have a frontman to do lead vocals.
Good songs to check out: Wine Red, You are the Moon, Crawling Towards the Sun and Lions Roar
☆ Patrick Wolf
Okay, I may be a liiitle biased, because Patrick Wolf is a redhead and I'm partial to them. Haha, lame reason. Nah, he's good; as in his style is very original, and there's a whimsical, lilting feel to his songs. The fact that he can play like more than 5 instruments just make him even cooler, and his wide forehead is just so endearing when he tries to hide it with a floppy fringe.
☆ Coffee
Haha, so last week's I raved on tea, hence coffee for this week then. Other than Starbucks, I'm pretty fond of Spinelli's Caramel Latte. It's a good mixture of light creamy sweetness and a slight bitter aftertaste. As for Starbucks, I want to try Caramel Hazelnut Frappucinno or Iced Caramel Macchiato. Hmmm. Lol. My mother just bought this Japanese brand of coffee back, it's pretty damn expensive, $15 for just 80g... hmm, I can't wait to try it too.
☆ Darlie Lime Mint flavored toothpaste
Okay, weird, I know. But this toothpaste is tasty! Really! The lime flavor is actually very prominent and you end up having a very cool feeling inside your mouth. Very refreshing indeed. :) And it shows that how sad my life is when I actually blog about toothpastes, haha.
☆
Pirates versus NinjasThe age old question that is so much more important whether an egg or chick appeared first! Yes, who would win if a pirate and a ninja fought each other? Personally, I'm biased towards ninjas winning because they obviously have like 1337 skills and can definitely pwned pirates with their niffy sneak attacks. Haha.
☆ Loveless Volume 8
*starry eyed* Finally! And in English too! The plot thickens and this is really where I hate hate hate Aoyagi Seimei. That damned bastard dared to hurt Soubi, carving that fucking name into his skin. And I really got to hand it to Ritsuka; running into Seimei's arms, defending him when he's the villain. Damn. And we have vulnerable Soubi who dares not fight Seimei because that bastard's words are his law, they're absolutes.
☆ Denkou Sekka Boys
I finally completed the entire series, both the original and the sequels. And damn, could Asami Tohjou sensei draw! Her characters are always so cool and yet still so realistic. I love love love Ritsu and Kodoka. But I love Ritsu more. Anyway, glad to see that in the end, there was a happy ending after all.

☆ Hanging out at the library
Okay, so I don't exactly do any proper work at the library; I merely pretend to study and read books instead. But still, it's fun to whisper loudly and grin at each other conspiratorially, as we all 'bow' our heads diligently when our attention is definitely not on the work before us. Heh. Or maybe I'm just a bad influence? Cos I haven't exactly finished my work. Oh well.
☆ Dexter
A serial killer with ethnics; killing only other killers that managed to escape the law. How hot is that? Except that his methods scares me too, sometimes. Anyway, the series is based on a book, which I have just borrowed and cannot wait to begin. Michel C. Hall plays the main character and looks pretty fine when in his psychopath moods.
☆ Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei
This has got to be one of the funniest anime out there. Seriously, I absolutely adore the teacher, Itoshiki Nozomu who is... so pessimistic and, and so quick to resort to suicide. However, every time that he encounters death, he'll be like, 'What if I had died?!'. So, you never know if he had really wanted to die or not. His students all have their own weird personality quirks that make the show ridiculously funny. But I think episode two is seriously the funniest. There are also various spoofs, like Death Note, Dragon Ball Z if you look out for them. And everyone's names can be made into really bad puns. The art is simplistic but pleasing to the eye. And the various blackboard jokes that are scattered around may be hard to catch, but should be quite funny.
☆ nmrfxxr from livejournal
Recently, I have been taken to stalking him. But only because I am so fcuking envious of his sewing skills! I mean, he makes his own jeans, his own aristocratic laced up shirt, and the list goes on. And how can I not adore a guy who can devote entire paragraphs if not entries on his hair?
☆ Jikou Keisatsu
It's probably quite the old show, but it's still funny. It's a Japanese show where our main character is a policeman on the statue of limitations force. Basically, he just shreds paper and returns stuff to the kin of victims and suspects. However, he also solves the crimes of these unsolved cases as his hobby. Very interesting. And Odagiri Joe can actually be quite cute.
☆ Tea
Whether it's English tea, chai, green tea, oolong, or Chinese tea, I don't really care. I've been drinking a lot of tea lately. And no, it's doesn't hamper my sleeping schedule at all, even if I have downed an entire pot of tea. Caffeine doesn't work. I'm exceedingly fond of Earl Grey and this weird Australian blend that my brother had brought back.

☆ Kuroshitsuji | 黒執事 | Black Butler (
mangaka's blog)
Angst ridden bishounens, Victorian era, aristocrats and lace clothings, demons and the supernatural, gothic inspired buildings. Just what more can I ask for? I just read the first book, and I love love love it to death. Sebastian Michelis is damn gorgeous and a demon to boot. And Ciel is just so... omg, quietly vulnerable like my dear Ritsuka of Loveless fame. And the storyline is pretty cool, a little mysterious, highly quirky and full of funny snippets here and there. I can't wait to get my hands on the next books.
☆ No More Heroes
Hmm, a game where I get to slaughter people as an assassin? Too cool for words. Though sadly, the main character, Travis Touchdown has... a lame-ass name and a bad dub actor. The killing part? Way fun though very unrealistic when you see the whole fountain of blood just spurting out...
☆ My new Laptop
Because finally I can get all the j-rock music that I want without pissing my brother off when I download everything and eats at his space. And that I can use it 24/7 without caring when he's at home or not. Yeah, means that I need not be so sneaky and erase all my internet history.
☆ poetry
I have started a poetry journal where I note down a poem everyday. This... habit is thanks to LJ user,
exceptindreams, who inspired me to start my own version.
“Warning!”
Jenny Joseph
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me,
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
☆ NYP food
The whole bunch of us ex-Kranjians have been invading NYP's canteens these few days. The food's pretty decent and the price isn't that much more from our own school canteen, so why not? Really. Though I have been running broke these few days...
☆ Haruki Murakami
I never really touched his works previously, for after reading the summary, I always found that it was too deep and too... thought-provoking for the shallow me. But inexplicably, I find myself lost in Norwegian Wood. It is a lovely story though I haven't finished it yet. It's still in the school library cos I didn't borrow it back and cannot read it during the weekend. I think, after finishing Norwegian Wood, I'll be tackling his other works as well. Another Japanese author that I highly favor is Mishima Yukio, though I don't always find his books...
☆ Completing Tetris
... Yes. I'm such a geek. >.>
☆ School Holidays
Yes. That's basically what I look forward to most of the time. No school! But there is homework... (deflates) Blah. But at least I need not get up at like 6 in the freaking morning to catch some bloody train. This is usually when I think to myself, WTF were you thinking?! Why didn't you just go to PJC?!

☆ Leap Years
The last day of February that only occurs once every 4 years. The Romans observed that the 29th of every month is Hecate's sacred day, and the fact that 29th February only occurs so rarely makes this a even more magical day. Also, during ancient times, this is the only day in which women can propose to men and if they're rejected, the men must give something in compensation. And to give these men fair warning, the women who wanted to make use of this opportunity had to wear scarlet petticoats.
☆ Rainy Days

Rainy days always put me in a good mood. I don't really know why. But the sky's always extremely beautiful when it's pouring. Lately it has been raining quite a fair bit. Please don't let up so quickly.
☆ Designing (
here)
Still hooked on the idea of redecorating my room. Haha, this is probably the longest time I have an idea that still interests me even though I'm still too lazy to move my arse into doing something productive other than surfing the net and oohing=aahing over other creative designs that people come up with.
☆ Chopin Nocturne in Fm Op.55
Finally finished learning my last exam piece. :) And this is my favourite out of the 3 prepared pieces. Scarlatti's Sonata in E is also great but I still don't really like Mozart's Allegro. It's too long... and repetitive. Okay, granted, Nocturne is also very repetitive... but I am just way biased towards wistful, melancholic songs.
☆ Literature Lessons
... Okay, so I still prefer Miss Lee's lessons. But the teacher in AJ's still decent and all. And to tell you the truth, literature is still the only lesson that I have never slept/dozed in. I have found myself nodding off during econs and writing illegible words that I still can't make out. I have seriously slept during talks that are basically not applicable to me. I have drifted off slightly during History as well, thinking that whatever that the teacher had said was in my lecture notes when it was most DEFINITELY NOT! D: And the fact that I have totally no background in History... damn. Yeah, so Literature. Only class which has actually kept my short attention span. Wow. Haha.
☆ Creative Jewellery

This rings are seriously too cool for words, and I quote the original maker, 'Rock On' indeed. :) They are made from guitar strings which is such a 'hey-why-didn't-
I-think-of-it' kind of idea.
☆ SID
I don't know why I never bothered to listen to them because hey, they are good. Probably because I was too fixated on the other bigger names out there. But really, I totally dig them now. Sweet? and Ajisai are my current favourites. And Mao's just so cute. :)
☆ Plans
Because making plans make me feel accomplished even when I haven't fulfilled anything on my planned list. Haha. Yes, I'm one of those people. :) But really, when I'm looking at a completed list of things-to-do, I feel like 'hey, there's actually a purpose for my presence here.' or something along that line of thinking.
☆ I Remember You by YUI
When I first heard it, I didn't really like it. It was perhaps too laid-back for me or something. But as I listened to it more, it grew on me gradually because of the lyrics and the melody of the song. However, I must say that I still prefer her other songs like Life, Rolling Star, Goodbye Days...
☆ EtsyI wish I could just buy like 85% of the goods available. There are just so many prettay things. As Kaylee of Firefly fame would say, "Shiny".

☆ L: Change the World

did he pass the pinky test?
L, this very enigmatic mystery, returns in this spin-off and once more, fascinates me with his strange mannerisms and quirky ways. However, no matter how realistic is he in the movie, I believe that I shall always love the L in the manga. Read the
movie review?
☆ Griffin (Jamie Bell) from
JumperAdeline and Nikki loves him too. What more can I say? Oh yeah, his British accent is to die for. Seriously.

☆ Glimpses into people's
bedroomsBecause I'm so very up to decorating my own room, I need inspiration and stuff like that. Haha, okay, because it's so much more interesting to take a peek at other people's lives and rooms. I'm such a busybody. Sue me.
☆ Tetris
Whenever I go to work, I'll bring my DS along and whack out on tetris. Now that I'm starting school and cannot bring my DS, it's so very... weird not to have my fingers clicking and mashing the keys to demolish the colorful blocks.
☆ New friends
I'm not the type to make friends easily, so having new friends make me happy. Hopefully, I'll still see them even though we're not going to be in the same class and all. We probably won't even be taking the same subjects.
☆ English History
Just watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Although the plot wasn't much, I like the atmosphere of the show, especially all the details of the style of the clothings and the mannerisms. And as I don't exactly have a good grasp of medieval english history, I was a little puzzled on some of the unfolding events so yeah, must go research on it as it's seriously quite fascinating.
☆ Viggo Mortensen in Eastern Promises
Okay, so we saw him before in the Lord of the Rings trilogy acting all suave and honorable as the King of Men. He now returns to the screen in Eastern Promises, a Russian mafia movie set in London, as just a driver. His Russian accent is just... so... not exactly hot but very... endearing. Haha, over all, this is an excellent movie, as it's quite realistic in its depiction of the criminal underworld and the various subtle nuances that the actors had to convey through the expressions and actions. The dialogue is also quite witty and the plot had quite a twist which I honestly didn't expect.
☆ Draco Malfoy
Just because Kirill (Eastern Promises, played by Vincent Cassel) reminds me of Malfoy, I actually quite like Kirill in the end. He reminds me of Malfoy. Haha, yes, I'm still in love with Draco. I'll always love him, not the canon one, but the fanon one in which he's the smexy Ice Prince of Slytherin who's all sarcastic and yet so insecure.
☆ Gossiping
Okay, not exactly really gossiping, but yeah, you know, catching up with old friends. I actually sat at this... pavilion thing near my house and yakked away for a hour plus with Jia Xuan. She's one of my closest friend from way back. Yeah, had an awesome laughing at her antics back in DLSS and also at my own silliness. DLSS was quite an influence on me after all. Where else would I have started to love bad boys except thanks to one certain guy? Haha, I miss those days sometimes.

☆ Animal Crossing: Wild World
Currently addicted to this DS game. It's an open-ended game in which you can do just about anything because there's not really much of a plot. Basically, your only goal is to upgrade your house to the highest level and maintain good relations with the other villagers. As this game follows real time, it really makes a difference if you play it every day or once every month or something.
☆ Jumper
I'm going to watch this sci-fi flick starring dear dear emo-boy with Faza tomorrow. This should be quite an awesome movie. Watch out for the upcoming review. (:
☆ L: Change the World.
My Valentines post was to be on L and Ryuutaro of Plastic Tree, because they look so similar that I bet L was based on Ryuutaro. Though their personalities are quite different. I'm going to watch this with Jia Xuan next Saturday and yes, more movie reviews from me. Damn, I can't wait! ~ L!! I think of all the fictional characters, I love him the most. Yeah.
☆ Handwriting Analysis
This is so accurate that it's pretty scary. Well, for me at least. Since I know myself best and I haven't asked anyone else about it. But seriously, I believe that our handwriting can reveal things about ourselves since we use our brains to control our hand to write and hey, that does influence our handwriting a lot.
☆ Gackt
Period. I wrote my
Valentines tribute to this enigmatic charismatic jrocker. What more can I do? Oh yeah, drool over him some more. Haha.

I love his expression here. So sweetly melancholic.
☆ Potluck with the class
Yeah, Dagge's house is gorgeous. And yeah, that's the house I aspire to have. Lots of candles and incense and abstract paintings. Spent an entire afternoon at her place, having lunch with the rest of the yoga students. Very fun even though I'm the youngest there.
☆ Sweeney Todd soundtrack
It's really good, their singing. I mean, you don't really expect actors to sing well, since... they are in the acting industry and not renowned for their singing. But hey, Helena Bonham Carter's voice is really lovely and Johnny Depp managed to bring in the various emotions behind the songs pretty well. But damn is Jayne Wisener's voice beautiful. The soaring notes and sweet, clear voice. Very pretty. So is Jamie Bower's voice, in the song where he is sort of pining for Johanna. I especially love the part where he goes, "I feel you, Johanna." It's very peaceful and all.
☆ Nintendogs
Yes, I am nearly obsessed with the DS lately as my own computer is down and it's rare that I get to use the computer already. Bah, can't wait for it to be fixed. So meanwhile, I overdose on cuteness that is my Husky! He's extra cute because he's in puppy form. But because I'm a lazy owner, I really dislike teaching him tricks... It takes him like up to 15 times to learn how to sit... imagine how much time I must invest to teach him harder stuff like 'play dead'? But frisbee training with Cordy (that's his name. Not given by me, so yeah.) is really funny.
And as my nephew has Nintendogs, though different version, I can now buy another breed of dog that was once locked to me. (:

☆ Returning to my
JROCK roots :)
Lately I have been neglecting everything jrock, spending most of my attention on AFI and Tokio Hotel. But as I went around to all my dearest LJ communities, I noticed so much new things!
AN CAFE's not-so-new single, Cherry Saku Yuuki, for one. And I have been rewatching old PVs just to get back into jrock.
I so so so want Yasu of Acid Black Cherry and Janne da Arc fame's 'gothic rooster' hairstyle. And no, that term wasn't coined by me, sadly.
I am sorry that the best image I can find on google is actually this crappy one. If you want to see the ponytail that I so adore, try the video. Though it's also of a crappy quality...
☆ Argyle
Right, I sort of fell in love with argyle after a trip to my aunt's place. My cousin's friend was wearing this absolutely gorgeous argyle sweater, and then on my way back, there were some other argyle wearing guys that look great. :)
☆ Marks and Spencer's cookies :)
I have now become a cookie snob. Only the best for me now, thanks to my superior at work who gave me the chocolate chips cookies. I don't think I can go back to normal lacking-in-chocolate-chips cookies anymore... D: Haha.
☆ Tokio Hotel's
NEW preview
1000 Meeres has been translated. And dear Billa is working on the English version now. Watch it
HERE. :) It's not as good as the German version, but hey, I still like it. Though they didn't manage to bring out the actual meaning behind the song entirely... x_x
☆ Pretty pretty photos

My favourite picture from the collection. Say yes to the beheaded rabbit, kids. And that puddle of blood, idk, but it reminds me of Sweeney Todd. :) Want more?
☆ Last Day of Work TOMORROW!!!1!
Yeah, no more stupid customers and fake smiles. I am officially quitting work as of tomorrow. The auntie's coming back on Tuesday and Aishah's taking over me on Wed at Isetan! So I'm free to do what I want, whenever I want. Except that school's just looming around the corner like some serial killer... DX
☆ SCHOOL reopening soon
Because my inner nerd is waiting to be unleashed to bitch and rant about how crappy school life is and all. And because I think I'm actually pretty rusty in the intellect department after months without schoolwork and lessons... I can't believe I want to study... okay well, only on stuff that I like. You can throw the math books away and I'll be hallelujah-ing.
☆ Inspiration to WRITE
Kurosaki Hiroya from my yakuza/high school story has finally decided to materialize. My final concept of him came midway while I was rewatching Final Fantasy: Advent Children. (Great graphics and wonderful music. But basically made me go PWP?!)
☆ Chinese New Year
Basically because of all the LOOT I get! Yup, my bank account will be a little fatter after this. Which makes me darn glad. Not to mention the lovely pay that I'll be getting soon. SWEET! :)
Yeah, this is quite a good week! And I think I'm starting to adore abusing the caps lock and bold function.
