Okay, eventful day indeed. First I was awakened by the damn MOE sms at the crack of dawn in which I emo-ed for a bit and couldn't go back to sleep. Too much adrenaline, probably. Schedule for today is really quite packed. Decide to appeal to AC/Poly or not? To appeal or not to appeal, that is the question. But in the end I didn't because I'm such the lazy arse that you all know. It's like so troublesome because you have to go down to the school personally with various photocopies of 'important' documents.

Anyway, yeah... not gonna appeal anymore... if this is where the wind blows, well... got to trust this breeze then.

So... bitched about stuff, gossiped a bit about others and I went out to get my second injection... It was sort of painful and all... cos I'm not used to being poked at with needles and such after all... Damnit, and I forgot to go check my ears for the last time. Blah. Then got school tomorrow already... so not looking forward to it because orientation always make me feel as if I'm in kindergarten or something. Like they'll go, 'What's your name? How about your hobbies?' Blah.

At around noon, after a brief conversation on schools and such with my mother, I headed out to Aishah's house, only to find that I couldn't enter and she couldn't leave. Why? She lost her keys! So yeah, chatted for quite a long long time with her sitting/standing at the door and me outside her house. We must have made quite the picture for her neighbours. Haha. But really, who cares.

Then I sort of went to City Hall to meet up with potential band mates which found me online. They seem sort of alright, pretty nice and quite friendly, though Minjia sort of scares me. She's pretty intense for some reason. And though Trisha is the older one at 19, she seems to be the younger one as compared to Minjia. They both look very pro and I was like damn nervous when they told me to sing... anything that I want. And I must tell you that... I completely forgot the lyrics of the song that I was to sing. Damn. Then I think they didn't quite like my choir voice... cos they were like asking me if I can sing with my speaking voice. Which I can't, actually, because I just automatically switch to singing voice. It's like... instinct from... 6 years of choir? Haha, don't know exactly. In the end, they gave me a list of songs to prepare for the next time that we shall meet... which is like... who knows, kind of thing.

Went to Jumper with Faza today just like I said I would. And yeah, coming up would be the movie review and spoilers because I just love to summarize. Actually, no. I don't.

Emo-boy Hayden Christensen returns to star in this sci-fi flick, Jumper. Once again, he plays an angsty character who apparently lacks the brains to think before jumping into the fray and shortening his survival expectancy. Luckily, he managed to survive all his stupidity, only to allow him to take more stupid actions.

The story begins when David, our protagonist, is 15 and still a normal student with no idea of his abilities. But that changes quickly as he, in an attempt to recover a snow globe for Milly (love interest and... generally useless decoration and perhaps eye candy) falls into icy water as the ice cracks and plunges him under, and needs to do something to save himself. It resulted in him jumping to the local library. Which probably stunned him as well as the other library users.

So, dripping wet and all, he drags himself home and introduces us to his... alcoholic father. The old man and David then had a confrontation in which the teen once again teleports to the library in order to escape his father.

Seeing this as a good chance to run away, David left with only a wad of cash and ended up in a motel. In order to survive, he decides to rob a bank. Using his abilities, he managed to empty the contents of the vaults without getting caught, and then begin to lead a cool life in New York City with his ill-gotten gains, Jumping here and there, travelling the world, in short.

However, what is a movie/story without a plot? Here we see the extent of David's stupidity. To loosely quote Roland Cox (Samuel L. Jackson), "What sort of a robber leaves notes behind?" And holds up David's IOUs. Really, David.

Roland Cox is probably the leader of the organization called Paladins, they are dedicated to wiping out Jumpers who are an abomination in their eyes, because they believe that only God is allowed to have the unique ability that the Jumpers have.

For a 'cultist' like Roland, he has some very spiffy equipment specially designed to track down Jumpers and eliminate them. David has a run-in with him but luckily, he manages to escape and Jumps to his old home. Shaken, he nonetheless decides to explore (where's his damn sense of preservation?!) his old home. He manages to track down his old crush, Milly, who is currently
working in a bar. He wanted to leave without speaking to her, but his old enemy, Mark, recognized him and created a scene. Angered, David then fought with him and ended up Jumping them into the bank which he robbed and left him there as revenge. Afterwards, he then took Milly out on a trip to Rome. Now, is he dumb or what? Apparently, his powers have made him reckless enough to actually use his powers on Mark and leave him where authorities can catch him. Dumb, dumb and dumb.

While sightseeing, David finally meets a fellow Jumper who has so much more experience than David with Paladins and Jumpers. Named Griffin, he is so much cooler than David. Of course I'm biased. He has a cool English accent. And that scores tons of points with me. Haha. He's not really the most stable crayon in the box, so hellbent on getting revenge against the Paladins that no sacrifice is too big for him.

So, Griffin and David are then being... attacked by the Paladins, two of them. With practiced ease, Griffin manages to dispose of his Paladin quickly and teleports away, leaving a corpse (I think) behind for David to handle. David, being the giant idiot that he is, tries to flee and because he must take Milly along and NOT let her know his powers, he is then arrested by the Roman police. Luckily, his mother, Mary, managed to help him escape, but that also fuels his curiosity. Why on earth was his mother there and all?!

So... while he escapes to the airport with Milly, telling her that he can't possibly go with her on the return trip and all that sort of drama, we see Roland interrogating Mark, squeezing information on David. He then travels to David's old home and threatens his father, basically. Upon seeing that he was unwilling to sell his son out, Roland kills him.

As he hears from Griffin that the Paladins would kill everyone in his life to hunt Jumpers down, David decides to check on his father, only to find him dead already. Worried about Milly's safety, he then seeks Griffin out on a truce, asking him to help him protect Milly. Just before the Paladins arrive, David Jumps Milly away to Griffin's secret hideaway. The poor girl was sort of... terrified and all, I think. And very angry at David.

Roland then using his very ultra-special technology, manages to track them down through the Jump Scar that Jumpers create every time they Jump. Griffin is freaking mad that David caused his secret hideout to be exposed and is swiftly engaged in a battle against Roland. The way cool part? Griffin teleporting a double decker bus to use against Roland. It's like... totally unheard of.
Next coolest? Griffin using a freaking flame thrower! Roland, knowing that he cannot beat them through this method, grabs Milly and jumps through the Jump Scar back to Milly's apartment.

And here we see how dumb David really is. He wants to take on the hero's role and rush into the scene to rescue Milly and all that crap. And here we see how realistic Griffin is, (I'm not saying he's right and all. I'm not that callous, you know.) he wants to use a giant bomb to kill all the Paladins, the fastest way to eliminate them all without causing too much damage to oneself. Smart fellow. But David, wanting to rescue Milly, disagrees and they end up having like an epic fight, Jumping here and there, it's all pretty blurry and super fast because hey, they can teleport.
In the end, David manages to trap Griffin and he leaves him stranded behind and heads off to Milly's. Stupidly, he is caught by the Paladins. Like duh. Who wouldn't have suspected that? Anyway, they fight and all. And David, in desperation, Jumps Milly's entire apartment into a lake. That is to kill the electrical wires that are holding him down, credits to Roland and team. Not wanting to drown to death, David once again Jumps part of the apartment to the library, yes. The library. It's probably officially ruined, thanks to David. He notices that he Jumped Roland as well after hearing him from somewhere near. He bids Milly to remain silent as he confronts Roland once more. And promptly Jumps them to the Grand Canyon. He tells Roland that he could have easily fed him to sharks and all, but he didn't. So... the point? Not all Jumpers are evil.

So, after that, we move ahead and see David tracking down his mother whom he last saw in Rome. He confirms for himself that yes, his mother is a Paladin as well, and she only left to protect him as he began to manifest his Jumping abilities at the age of 5. So it was like... either leave him. Or kill him. She then tells David that she's giving him a 'head-start', so meaning that she will one day hunt him down as well... David leaves, looking all emo and is joined by Milly who comforts him and finally, they Jump away. To somewhere warm.

As majority of you all know, I am no fan of the sun or the sand. So what on earth was I thinking of when I accepted the extended invitation to go to Sentosa? You're right. I wasn't thinking. But hey, it was sort of fun, and although pricy to me, it was a new enough experience.

So yeah, I met up with Faza at her place, and once again, forgot to lend her the books. We made sandwiches for lunch because food over there are practically tourist traps.

We were supposed to meet up at 10:30. But because most of them overslept or something, we ended up meeting later than expected. Oh well, it's not like we have a schedule or anything.

Skyride was cool, figuratively and literally. I only wished it would go faster. Plodding along at such a speed does not interest me much because there isn't really much of a thing to watch...

Apparently I also should not get a driving license because I cannot drive to save my life and will probably only kill it. Yeah. Or so the Luge ride demonstrated that to me. Haha.

Sadly, our fun was disrupted due to the sudden downpour. Thanks a lot, yeah. So we wasted our time under the pitifully small shelter with some unknown random strangers whom we won't be seeing anymore. Oh well.
