Bad Day Indeed
[ 21:59 ]
... Fridays are supposed to be the most enjoyable day out of the working week because tomorrow's the freaking weekend. But really, today was really a shitty day.
Almost all the teachers scolded us today. First, it was Ms Ng for our crappy tutorials, and yes, I'm guilty of not doing my work too and all that. Then she mentioned that many of our teachers are pissed off with our attitude towards homework or something for they have complained to her about us. Yeah, anyway, we got scolded again during econs, by the lecturer though this time it wasn't exactly directed at us specifically. And finally lit, which I failed by just a margin. Well, Ms Chan scolded us too, and all that. Damn, now I have to do a retest for her... which means more work.
Then we had a long and tiring pe in which I just ran and ran and ran some more, losing track of just how many rounds did I exactly run... anyway, the sun was so bloody hot! By the end of my 2 years in AJ, I'll be too tanned to recognize! Damn it.
And unluckily, just as I was heading back for piano lesson, it began to rain. Heavily. So my teacher cancelled my lesson and yeah, I was late already. Why the fuck couldn't it rain earlier so that I didn't need to freaking run in the scorching sun?!

Pish-Posh, Homework.
[ 00:13 ]
I am a total fail at life, or rather school work.
Can you believe that I just started to do my homework that is due tomorrow?
What was I doing all these while? Well, it's a sort of don't ask, don't tell thing because seriously, there should be a limit to how much I can procrastinate except that I just surprised myself with my procrastinating skillz. Yeah. Lack of sleep makes me lame. I am not looking forward to tomorrow or today, since school's in about 6 hours from now.
In other news, my livejournal has gotten a new skin, ohhh, so that was what I spend my time doing... okay, I'm going to search out for my bed now, homework be damned. What's the worst that can happen?
I am so goddamn irresponsible. Yeah. :)

[ 22:51 ]
... Was it just my luck or some cosmic fate telling me that, 'hey, that's no longer part of your life anymore. You need to move ahead.'
I'm not exactly a proactive person, more of the passive type, as in I'm not wont to finding opportunities and all.
The CCA carnival thing was... a missed chance. I went for the first audition for choir (even though I promised myself not to join choir again. I mean, 6 years of choir already... do I seriously want to do it for another 2 years?) And very sadly, during the testing of range, I dropped from a soprano to an alto. It was either because I was not prepared at all or the fact that I haven't been singing high notes since I left choir. And also the fact that I'm usually singing along to lower ranged songs. Oh well, no one but myself to blame anyway.
I had piano lesson at 6, meaning that I had to leave at 4:30, which the time that the event is supposed to end anyway. Except that when I was on the train, I received a call telling me to go back and face round 2 of auditions. I told her I couldn't and hence gave up my chance.
15 minutes later, my piano teacher rang me up to reschedule my lesson because she wasn't feeling well. And I was like, wtf?! I missed the chance all for nothing?! Then I thought to myself, 'Is it some higher power telling me that perhaps I need to change the familiar route to something else? Or is it some cruel joke?'

Me, Mug?
[ 23:35 ]
There is no way that this very lazy person can ever turn into a mugger. Seriously, proven time and time by personal experiences definitely outweigh any of those silly surveys and researches.
During H2 Econs lecture, I was like, thinking to myself, since I had totally no clue of what the teacher was going on about, why not just don't pay so much attention since I'm all drowsy. Anyway, there will be e-lectures available online and bridging lessons. So, with the thought that I will catch up with the undone work this evening at home, I sort of... stoned through the lesson, barely writing minimum notes.
Okay, so I told myself to study at home since I didn't know nothing at all in school. But lazy lazy me, saw the computer was unoccupied (cos my brother went for reservice and I seriously need to get my own computer fixed) and was immediately... lost to its 'siren' wails. Anyway, I just didn't study at all. And after using the computer, I was so tired that I crashed and slept like the dead for... 2, 3 hours? Well, yeah. Laziness in the living. Even after I woke up, I didn't do any homework or anything. Just surfed the net again and re-read everything by maderr. Funny, I can re-read stuff and all... but I can't force myself to study.

Fluke
[ 21:02 ]
Okay, so I must admit that I was pretty intrigued by KI, but after knowing that in order to take it, I would have to go through a written test as well as an interview. Which basically is not my thing, hence I was like... 'Oh, too troublesome, never mind, just take GP then.'
The KI test was 8 in the morning, while interviews were in the afternoon for those who pass the test already.
So, I found that this guy in my OG was interested in going for the test, and me being the lazy me, decided to tag along to skip the games that we had to play to go for this test. I mean, I would rather sit down in an air-con room then running around getting wet and dirty...
The test was... sort of tough... probably because I haven't been really using my brain for like over 6 months or so... but I think I was among the first few to finish. Well, I just crapped my way through and all, the usual.
... And apparently my crap made enough sense to the teachers marking the script because I actually managed to pass... I mean, I was surprised because I didn't even expect to make it... actually, when I saw the questions, I was like... 'can I just stand up and go... I totally can't answer the questions...' So yeah, I made it as well as my OGL. But the other guy who was also interested didn't make it. Oh well. I'm not good at comforting people, least of all, guys. But he didn't seem too sad... so...
But I probably really screwed up the interview. I'm not exactly good at talking, evidently shown in my oral results. I usually write better than I talk because my mouth usually moves faster than I think, and I usually end up with my foot in my mouth. Yeah. So four by four we entered the interview room where a bunch of people basically grilled you with their 'specially designed' questions. Whatever. I think I came off to them as a ADD kid, I was drumming my fingers randomly, swiveling my chair to and fro slightly as my feet fidgeted restlessly... haha. And I just randomly blurt out whatever I was thinking... so my answers don't make a lot of sense. I'm more of the impulsive type, I think.
Well, results are tomorrow, but seriously, I don't exactly care... I mean, my main purpose of joining the selection was to pon the games and dance sessions. Though I didn't tell the teachers that, of course!
Last day of orientation tomorrow too. Please let it be a better day. I was pretty unlucky today. I have no idea why. I think I spoilt someone's stapler, got seriously dirty during one of this games which involved wet flour and another which had dirty water. Way gross. Blah, I really don't want to get all dirty when I have to stay till 8 tomorrow...

On Orientation
[ 21:25 ]
I'm not much of a... enthusiastic or outgoing person. I just cannot do cheery and... get high with complete strangers. Okay, maybe I will, when I'm like so drunk that I can't even remember my own name, yeah, I'll probably go high with total random strangers. But not when I'm sober.
And there's also the fact that majority of the people there already know each other from the PAE thing. They already been through the stupid 'hey, total strangers here, I'm ___, you're?'
Okay, so I'm in OG 2, Pharaoh... don't ask me why. The other houses have equally... dramatic names, like Olympians, Odin, Paladin... and then they have subsets of these houses, called clans, I think... They even came up with some story for the houses thing...
Because they made us report at 7, I had to wake up at 5... and was damn tired because I slept at around 2 last night. So... I dozed off during the subject talks. The principal is also like... one of a kind. We were made to stand up and clap when she entered the lecture theater. It's like so weird because... she's a school principal. Not a say... MP... or some like real big shot....
So yeah, learned a bunch of cheers which I have forgotten by now. Which I don't really care about anyway... just go there and mumble and pretend to know. Next, we also learned a stupid looking mass dance which involved us walking around to close gaps up more than actually dancing the thing. And it's a weird... Hawaiian song... in which is not very catchy or nice. The other dances were to really really old boyband pop songs... which... isn't all too bad, until they expect me to do it. Yeah, we're learning those during tomorrow's session. Games were... sort of boring, just pretend to participate, smile sheepishly when I lost and just clap along as the others cheer.
Technically, the one thing that pisses me off is that like almost everyone in my OG is doing sciences. So what's the point if I get all chummy with them? I probably won't be seeing much of them after this anyway. OKay, I wasn't that antisocial, I made some friends, but... yeah, science course and all... Adeline was pretty nice and all, and haha, both of us like Griffin from Jumper! (: Such a coincidence. Or maybe it's just because Griffin is way cooler? Hope there's a sequel... even if they're just trying to fleece money off us...
I wish I knew where he went. But I can't possibly ask him...

... I hate myself sometimes.
I woke up at like around 6 plus suddenly, feeling chilly because I wasn't using a blanket. So I quickly pulled the covers up and was thinking to myself, "Don't let me get AJ, I wanna go to AC." repeatedly and all. Then I was like, "Shit, better stop thinking. Later really unlucky, definitely get to AJ lah. So better don't think. Quick, think about the band thing."
A few minutes later, as I was drifting off, I was awakened by my stupid message ringtone. It's actually Ayabie's Virgin Snow Color. Anyway, I thought it was from one of my friends, and was prepared to give whoever a damned tongue lashing for waking me up... only to see myself posted to AJ. Fucking damn lah...
Just when I said 'if unlucky...' Now really unlucky lah. Damn.
Karma hates me or something. Must be I never donate to those students carrying the bloody tin cans lah. (Haha, when in doubt, just blame everything but yourself.)
Anyway, I did think of appealing, but it's all so troublesome... must go to the school, must bring this, must bring that. Blah. So yeah, not appealing. Anyway, my very biased mother also won't let me appeal to poly.

Serum of a Will Destroyed
[ 23:35 ]
If you never had any expectations in the first place, you won't feel any disappointment. Or at least that is how I feel about things, most of the time. Well, even after getting the results, I can't say that I'm discontented with what I have when
minimal efforts have only graced the papers. Guess after all I'm just an average person with average grades.
So what does the future hold? Seriously, I doubt I'll be given much of a choice. Why bother when she ends up shooting them all dead afterwards. What is the point of even putting any effort in making any choice when she will simply just decide for me and say it's for the best. Freedom of choice was never a freedom with me.
The seasons change without me.
I remain in shadows growing wings.
The spirit song still surrounds me, in refrain, in shadows growing wings.
Like an angel with two broken wings, reach the sky again.
Like a devil, meant for better things, I will find my place on high.

The Day of Reckoning
[ 21:58 ]
Oh yes, panic away, panic away. Apparently results are out this Thursday, 24/1/08, at 2pm. Yeah. So?
Faza's apparently quite worried... and I think Kim and Amirah are in that boat too... I'm not really all that... worried. Because what's done is done. No point panicking. You can't change the scores overnight with your anxiety anyway. So why waste all your energy on the hysterics. Okay, I exaggerate. They're not that bad, I think... yeah.
It's not like this score will determine the really important things in life. Does it dictate how long you will live? Well, maybe to some, yes. Furious parents might... get murderous ideas, haha, not really. I think. Right? Having a bad score does not mean that you're useless. (not when there are fast-food joints that need people or toilets that need cleaners. Okay, again I kid. Apparently instead of panicking, I make very terrible jokes.) Having a horrible score does not mean that you're not worthy of being loved by your family and friends, and others who you want to be loved by... eww. I can't believe I really typed that utterly gross line.
Thanks, AFI. I'll make sure not to listen to your more... emotional stuff when I'm blogging. But I am soooo going to get that
LIVE DVD, I HEARD A VOICE. OMG. Totally. They are like my current greatest greatest love. Sorry TH. AFI has a longer history with me. Lol.

E.Maths Paper One: The Magician
[ 17:28 ]

At #1, the Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud ("And God said 'Let there be Light!' and there was Light"). Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand (Mercury *was* the god of thieves!) and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil. The 4 suits laid out before him remind us of the 4 aces, which in the Tarot symbolize the raw, undeveloped, undirected power of each suit. When the Magician appears, he reveals these to you. The reader might well interpet this card as telling the querent that they will be given a vision, an idea, a magical, mental image of whatever it is they most want: the solution to a problem, an ambitious career, a love life, a job.
Most importantly, the Magician card stands for the "reveal" - as in a magic trick. The handkerchief is draped over an empty box, the Magician waves his wand, *presto!*--now there is a dove in the box. The Magician card does the same for the Querent--only what it reveals is not birds or rabbits but NEW ideas. Emphasis on NEW. When the Magician card appears, the Querent is likely to say: "Now there's an idea! Why didn't I think of that before?" Truth is, the Querent had that idea in his head all along. The Magician merely revealed it to him.
... the paper was sort of tricky. And I got tricked. Not once, but at least twice. >.<

English Papers One and Two: The King of Swords
[ 17:06 ]

Tossing out a new idea, getting thoughts on paper, brainstorming. The ability to see problems objectively and find new and better solutions.
The situational was one of my worst. I restarted thrice having been stuck midway in my introduction. For composition, I did some sort of a parody. It was amusing, perhaps cliche, but nothing spectacular.
The passages in Paper Two was interesting and I really liked the astrology passage. The other one was left hanging... so... blah.

Elective Geography: The Emperor
[ 20:36 ]

As Aries, the Ram, the Emperor naturally follows the pregnant Empress. Aries is the infant, the first sign of the Zodiac. Like an infant, he is filled with enthuiasm, energy, aggression. He is direct, guileless and all too often irresistible.
Unfortunately, like a baby he can also be a tyrant. Impatient, demanding, controlling. In the best of circumstances, he signifies the leader that everyone wants to follow, sitting on a throne that indicates the solid foundation of an Empire he created, loves and rules with intelligence and enthusiasm. But that throne can also be a trap, a responsibility that has the Emperor feeling restless, bored and discontent.
The Emperor card is the "Who's the boss?" card. It is an important question. The meaning of the card includes being in control over your environment, your body, your temper, your instincts, your love life. This is not the time to give into the unconscious, not the time to let yourself be controlled by others wants and needs. It is a card that gives the Querent permission to be aggressive, brave, bold and in command. The Emperor could be a father or father figure, leader or employer, either a demanding tyrant or a charismatic king. If the card stands for the Querent, he/she should think about whether their Empire has become an unwelcome chore and if it has, are they now a bad leader, demanding, unreasonable, unhappy. It might be time to abdicate the throne.
Well... this is the first time I almost couldn't finish my geography paper on time. Though I did finish it.

Chemistry Paper Two: The Fool
[ 21:39 ]

At #0, the Fool is the card of infinite possibilities. The bag on the staff indicates that he has all he need to do or be anything he wants, he has only to stop and unpack. He is on his way to a brand new beginning. But the card carries a little bark of warning as well. Stop daydreaming and fantasising and watch your step, lest you fall and end up looking the fool.
In the Tarot, cards like The Magician or The Hermit can often stand for the Querent or for someone in the Querent's life. The Fool, however, almost always stands for the Querent alone, no one else. In standing for the Querent, the Fool represents a time of newness, a time when life has been "re-started" as it were. The person feels that they are back at Zero, whether that be in romantic affairs, or career, at their job or intellectual persuits. Far from being sad or frustrating, the Querent feels remarkably *free*, light hearted and refreshed, as if being given a second chance. They feel young and energized.
In addition, they likely have no idea where they're going or what they're going to do. But that doesn't matter. For the Fool, the most important thing is to just go out and enjoy the world. To see what there is to see and delight in all of it.
Unfortunately, in this childlike state the person is likely to be overly optimistic or naive. A Fool can be a Fool. This is the card likely to turn up when a Querent is thinking of investing his money in a new, "sure fire" business. Or when the Querent is sure that it's "love this time!" Like the Fool, they're so busy daydreaming of what might be that they're ignoring what is. They're about to fall right off a cliff. Time for them to listen to that watchful little dog, which might be a concerned friend, a wise tarot reader, or just their instincts.
As a card, the Fool ultimately stands for a new start. When it turns up the Querent might be about to make a move, not just to a new home, but new job, new life. There's more than just change, renewal, and a brand new beginning in the Fool, there's also movement, a fresh, exciting new time.
Let me just say that the paper was... unexpected.

A.Maths Paper Two: The Wheel
[ 19:09 ]

A wheel turning clockwise with rising/falling figures or beasts on it. Waite also includes a good many hebrew letters and alchemical symbols. Often there is a sphinx perched atop the wheel.
With Jupiter as its ruling planet, the Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. Almost every definition of this card indicates abundance, happiness, elevation, luck. A change that just happens, and brings with it great joy.
As much as the Tarot is about what a Querent can do to change their life or self, there are cards that admit that sometimes you just get lucky. This card can mean movement, change and evolution, but its primary meaning always seems to say that such changes will seem to come out of the blue, a stroke of good, unexpected fortune. The person you're reading for is going to get that money, that job, that promotion, that special person, that break they've been waiting for. Call it Karmic payback for all the good things they've done in life, destiny or just luck, but whatever lotteries are out there, large or small, they've just won one.

A.Maths Paper One: Six of Wands
[ 18:43 ]

Sixes are balance and harmony, especially after the upsets of the fives. These cards predict a solution, and not just any solution; there will be an exchange, a give and take that results in a new equilibrium. It may not last, but for that moment, everything is stable. With this card, there is an almost "Ah-HA!" of recognition, of understanding in the solution, and more than a little awe at the symmetry achieved by it.
Six of Wands
The Victory Card: A victorious man on a horse, applauded by all, enters carrying a wand with a laurel wreath. Here is the conclusion to what happened with the Five of Wands. Competition was fierce, an answer had to be found to make the Querent stand out, make them different, special. Ah-HA! says the 6 of Wands. The Querent has found (or will find) that solution. Success, in fact, requires that they be above all others, that they make themselves a champion of the people. Note the give-and-take common to all 6's. The crowd offers the victor applause. He, in turn, offers them a champion to adore. For this moment, both are happy, the victor with the adulation, the crowd with their hero.
I sort of hope this is a good omen for my maths exam... since I did draw this card during this morning's meditation. Even though there were plenty of questions that I found myself unable to do... which isn't surprising anyway, as I haven't been listening in class for months. Ah well.

Chemistry Mix-up
[ 17:24 ]
Blah... woke up at like 7 today... rewatched an episode of Ouran, because apparently humor makes you more receptive to lessons or something. Whatever. So... I headed out to school, and arrived before the 'supposed' time. Or so I thought. He told me that the lesson would be at 9! Only for me and some other people to find out that the slot 9 to 11 was for the sec 5s! Pure chemistry would be at 11 instead. Blah.
Luckily, we didn't have to waste time waiting around. Instead, we had lessons with the sec 5s. Though it wasn't exactly a lesson. He left us with a worksheet of questions, and basically walked in and out, here and there while we complete what little that we could.
So yeah, I managed to reach home before 12, yay...

Exams and more exams
[ 22:50 ]
Okay, so what if I don't do well for my prelims again? I'll just go find myself a job and earn enough money to support my clothes craze.
HCL was terrible... even though paper 1 was relatively alright, but my writing were very childish and the vocabulary was simply non-existent. I can foresee an abysmal grade, which really isn't anything very surprising. Heck, I nearly fell asleep during paper 2, plowing through those sickening passages bravely. We all deserve an award or something, for going through torture for those fringe benefits...
English... well, my paper 1 was... first, my composition was recycled, from since my sec 1 days, I merely changed the names, appearances and settings, but the general plot is still the same, with the same character traits, same problems... blah. So unoriginal. >.< Paper 2 was boring... I can't say that it was very easy, yet neither was it overly difficult. It just can't be labeled.
Social Studies was a joke. I didn't really have enough time to study everything that I needed to study. I did my best for SBQ, because I knew that my SEQ was seriously very weak. Heck, I only had three factors for both my SEQ question, and most of them had little content, basically, I am hoping to smoke my way through. Add on bad handwriting, I have finally broke past my one page style of SEQ... haha.
Geography was still alright, as I knew desertification and air pollution were coming out. And as usual, I did agriculture, which was simpler than manufacturing, at least in my opinion. Probably because agriculture is more straightforward, and more interesting to me. Map work was shoddily done because I seriously didn't have much clue on what to do... 10 marks...
It will not be a shock for me if I fail A.Maths. It would be completely natural for me. Paper 1 was a killer, so many that I couldn't do... even though paper 2 was much easier, there it no way it can rescue my dismal paper 1. Anyway, I'm so bloody glad that it's over. Maths. Such a bane.
There were quite a few people who couldn't complete their work on time. Which... is surprising because most of the papers were doable, and did not need that much time actually.
Time management for me is very simple. If you don't know how to do a particular question, skip it and move on. Do questions that you can do first, leave the tougher ones for later. Once you have completed those you can do, return to the questions that you're stuck at. If you still can't do, go back and check the previous questions you have done, erasing chances of carelessness. And if you still can't do the remaining questions, pause a while and relax. There's no point stressing yourself out, you still can't do it in the end.
For subjects like Geography and Social Studies, I allocate time limits for myself. Usually, for geography, I give the first question [agriculture/manufacturing] 30 min, but if I get stuck halfway, I move on to the next section [tourism/environment] and use another 30 min, however, if I am stuck again, I move on to map, spending at most 15 min. The remaining time will be used to complete questions that were not finished from before.
English and Chinese operate on a similar concept. For Chinese letter writing, don't use more than 45 min, because it has lesser value. Usually, it's better to start with letters first as it is pretty straightforward, not much thinking required. Likewise, I do my situational writing for English first, unless I have a very good storyline as soon as I see the questions for composition. Spend no more than 40 min, as there is only 1 hr and 45 min. 5 min for thinking for your composition and use the rest of the time to write and check. Paper 2 isn't much of a problem as the time given is so much more than enough. >.< I always end up with at least 20 min. Blah.
Whew. At least tomorrow is a short day! And no exams! o(≧∀≦)o

Oral Fixation
[ 21:55 ]
Alright, so what if the title makes no sense and has utterly no relations to my topic? It sounds nice, and well... we had oral today. Or at least my class did.
Okay, so I'm not too sure how much of my panic was my own and how much was from channeling the nervous energy from people around me, for I wasn't really nervous on my own, only when others were around.
Today's oral examination was just plain bad. The passage was about this family who went on a holiday, only to be disrupted by bad weather. There were little much to express and was frankly quite boring. There wasn't any visible punchline, though I felt that I had gotten a hint of the joke. Personally, I think overall, my reading should be alright, and I didn't go too fast, unlike my normal speed.
Well, there wasn't much to talk about the picture, which depicted a bus stuck in the flood, with people helping to push it along. I had to be prompted, and I felt that I didn't really answer their questions too well. Conversation was a big surprise and I gave very vague answers, there simply wasn't anything creative. Luckily, I'm the first, so... yeah, the examiners wouldn't penalize me too much, right?
My examiners seemed nice, smiling quite a lot... which is either a good thing or a bad one. Apparently, there was this team that yawned blatantly, and hardly paid any attention, it must have pissed quite a number of people off. I mean, I would too, and if I don't force myself to shut up, I might even comment on their rudeness.
The previous days had simpler questions, so it's weird when ours popped up. Seriously, environmental issues? Okay, so I kind of liked that topic, but I was totally caught unprepared. I thought that it would be following the previous trend of favorites, or something equally personal, and not about current affairs. Ah well, since oral is like a gone case for me, I better focus on the other papers if I want to depend on english as my L1.

Productive
[ 20:07 ]
School was normal... slacked my way in almost all the lessons, especially in English, what with the cool weather and darkened room. I was in no mood to do some silly proposal. >.>
As we were banded for maths, I was dumped in one of the weaker classes, since I failed a.maths and did poorly for e.maths. Ah well, at least I'm not alone in that class. The teacher is actually quite nice, and didn't really seem to expect much from us. She left us alone to do the paper, as she walked around helping those who needed it. There wasn't any longwinded teaching or anything and her hints are all quite effective. However, the paper given was also quite easy, and made me very pleased, because I for once, am able to do the paper without too much of a challenge. And no blanks. Small thing, I know, but I'm contented with that because my maths is the shit.
After maths, we headed to the ava room where some seniors came back to give us a talk. The first few gave quite generic speeches, telling us what the school can offer us, what we need to get into the school, what to expect, etc. Then this guy from PJC came forward and told us bluntly to think and think even more before considering going into JC. He was surprisingly honest and was kind of disillusioned about the education system all in all.
>.> And what can I do? I have to get into one, by hook or by crook. It's what my mother has demanded of me, and if I fail to do that... Ah well, I seriously want to get into ACJC, but judging from my current results and trends from previous years, that is just merely an empty dream. Jaded much?
