Th_Cult over at LJ had this suggestion that we all send post cards to Bill, wishing him a speedy recovery. The poor boy! He apparently needs to undergo vocal cord surgery; there was a cyst on his vocal cords. If the surgery fails, he probably won't be able to sing ever again, which is devastating for a singer, I know I would be damn miserable.

Yeah... I want him to get well soon! Not that I'm exactly affected, but all of their concerts were cancelled, which meant that several areas were hit, almost half of North America, and Europe. So, the whole post card thing was like, 'Hey, since you couldn't come over to see us, we'll just sort of go to you then.' but really, I think Bill will be so touched by the post cards, it's just sweet and very well meaning.

Anyway, corny title comes from the English version of 1000 Meere. Yeah, I so prefer the original version.

In other news, I may just be flunking my first Literature test. Hooray, NOT. Blah, I didn't study, I know, my fault, but... seriously it's upon 50, and the passing grade is 40. How the hell am I expected to pass?!

It's been quite some thing since I blogged properly, but seriously, there isn't much to write about. I mean, it's just school, yeah. And I'm certainly past the age where I should be whining about homework and mean mean meannnnn teachers that give too much homework which I am STILL neglecting to do until the last possible minute.

Math lessons are like... so unchanged. I mean, I sit near the back of the class, the teacher drones on, I do my homework for other subjects in a frenzy because it's the next lesson and only look up from time to time or when my name is called. Familiar scene, no? I practically did this since sec 1 or something, haha. Some things just don't change, I guess.

Apparently, I'm also involved in a Track & Field event and NDP cheerleading stint in which I have to assume temporary insanity when I somehow coerced myself into joining. Seriously, I DIDN'T know just what the heck I was thinking when I signed up for these.

Life's still pretty normal, I get up, go to school, prepare to stay awake in classes and go home and slack before my laptop. Typical day at Kranji Anderson. See, interchangable.

As for friends, well, that's also pretty normal, my classmates are pretty friendly, and you know me, very... indifferent anyway. I just don't always act the usual way that I am... just more reserved and polite. Yeah. To judge how I feel about someone, it's always easier to see how nicely or rudely I treat them.

Hmm, in other news, I'm sort of interested in taking up a translating post at Hochuuami, translating chinese manga to english. Okay, so I'm not exactly brilliant at chinese, but even at my standard, manga is like... still relatively easy... My main point is to try it out, working with other like minded people, *cough cough*. Never mind.

Okay, so I'm interested in the CAP thing that apparently NUS is hosting. But the thing is, where the hell am I going to build up a decent looking portfolio?! My usual writing are... gay-orientated stories that are in no way insightful or deep. They are just figments of my twisted imagination. And my poetry are usually those angst-ridden stuff that are written on a whim with no regards to any literary techniques. They just look good on screen and contribute to nothing except show how shallow I am. Damn it.

... Was it just my luck or some cosmic fate telling me that, 'hey, that's no longer part of your life anymore. You need to move ahead.'

I'm not exactly a proactive person, more of the passive type, as in I'm not wont to finding opportunities and all.

The CCA carnival thing was... a missed chance. I went for the first audition for choir (even though I promised myself not to join choir again. I mean, 6 years of choir already... do I seriously want to do it for another 2 years?) And very sadly, during the testing of range, I dropped from a soprano to an alto. It was either because I was not prepared at all or the fact that I haven't been singing high notes since I left choir. And also the fact that I'm usually singing along to lower ranged songs. Oh well, no one but myself to blame anyway.

I had piano lesson at 6, meaning that I had to leave at 4:30, which the time that the event is supposed to end anyway. Except that when I was on the train, I received a call telling me to go back and face round 2 of auditions. I told her I couldn't and hence gave up my chance.

15 minutes later, my piano teacher rang me up to reschedule my lesson because she wasn't feeling well. And I was like, wtf?! I missed the chance all for nothing?! Then I thought to myself, 'Is it some higher power telling me that perhaps I need to change the familiar route to something else? Or is it some cruel joke?'

I woke up at like around 6 plus suddenly, feeling chilly because I wasn't using a blanket. So I quickly pulled the covers up and was thinking to myself, "Don't let me get AJ, I wanna go to AC." repeatedly and all. Then I was like, "Shit, better stop thinking. Later really unlucky, definitely get to AJ lah. So better don't think. Quick, think about the band thing."

A few minutes later, as I was drifting off, I was awakened by my stupid message ringtone. It's actually Ayabie's Virgin Snow Color. Anyway, I thought it was from one of my friends, and was prepared to give whoever a damned tongue lashing for waking me up... only to see myself posted to AJ. Fucking damn lah...

Just when I said 'if unlucky...' Now really unlucky lah. Damn.

Karma hates me or something. Must be I never donate to those students carrying the bloody tin cans lah. (Haha, when in doubt, just blame everything but yourself.)

Anyway, I did think of appealing, but it's all so troublesome... must go to the school, must bring this, must bring that. Blah. So yeah, not appealing. Anyway, my very biased mother also won't let me appeal to poly.

Spent an entire day (okay, not really the entire day but a better portion of the day) at the library. Basically I just collected a bunch of moderately interesting books (in my opinion) and sat down and read. And read some more.

I was actually hoping to read up more on interior design because I want to redo my rooms and was thinking of what to paint for my dull, dull walls. Currently am thinking of a deep green, with black and silver. Slytherin colors. (:

But couldn't find anything decent... or was I in the wrong area? Probably so, but I was too lazy to move around much when I'm carrying like 10 books at a shot. People probably think I'm super kiasu or something... But if one looks closely, I'm like carrying 1 book on 1 subject, excluding the fiction.

Ended up reading about dreams because I have been plagued by stupid nightmares that set off my mother's worry instincts... besides, lucid dreaming has been something that I wanted to achieve since like forever. Okay, the age of five.

Then I tried researching on geniuses and how they were made, but because I suck, I couldn't find anything conclusive. Sorry, Hiroya. Guess you have to be fine-tuned longer. But hey, reading on IQ is sort of cool. I mean, the extent of Nazi cruelty... they sort of... sterilized people that they found were feeble-minded and basically shipped them off to a place and made them work... if they were unable to function 'properly' they were sent off to be killed. IQ tests were are also damn important to the rich in America, or perhaps, everywhere. Kids as young as four have to get tested before they are considered for enrollment in the top preschools... is there even a need?!

And because the library needs more books, I couldn't find anything, anything useful on Aztec mythology. Yes, that's the next mythology I want to conquer. Not that I'm actually done with Greek/Roman/Norse/Egyptian. But I do know more than the common layman. Right.

Not to sound totally random but handwriting analysis is actually pretty damn accurate. For me, at least, since I never tried it on others, or even speak of it. My clique probably aren't into that sort of thing.

Anyway, I didn't borrow everything that I wanted to... first, Mark Haddon's Spot of Bother wasn't available for loan yet and I couldn't find Linda Grant's The Clothes on their Backs. The only bright spot was that I found Ben Okri's Starbook, but it wasn't really something that I wanted to sink my claws in...

Oh well. I shall make sure to put down more 'me' time. And the next time, I want to sit in a cafe and drink overpriced coffee all by myself as I write. Though I doubt I'll actually do it. Because of the overpriced coffee. >.>

Blah. Apparently the doctors are hard workers. Because my blood test results are in. UNFORTUNATELY, I don't seem to have the... erm... needed anti-whatever that prevents me from getting nasty diseases like... erm... whatever. See, I so CANNOT be a doctor or anyone in the medical field. So that means that I need to take 3 INJECTIONS. Oh shoot. There goes my salary. What a meaningful way to spend my precious hard earned money. Way blah, I tell you.

Apparently I have Type A+ blood, which may or may not be rare. Because my father and I are the only ones in the family to hold this blood type. The others are all boring Type O. According to Japanese Blood Type Personality:

Remind me not to get pricked by a needle anymore. Not that I'll fall into a deep slumber for like eternity, but because the sting really does hurt like a bitch. It wasn't painful when I got my ears pierced because the pain was a sudden and unexpected jolt, not to mention that the woman practically slathered alcohol all over my ear lobe. But drawing blood hurts because the doctor merely dabbed a little alcohol and proceeded to jab me with that blasted needle. And started to collect the blood.

What on earth was I taking a blood test for? That's because the mother decided that out of my great love for seafood, I should check whether I'm protected from any nasty diseases so that I don't die a very unjustified death.

So yeah. Hurts like a bitch, and I don't really want to do it again. Blood donations? No thank you. I rather donate money. Sometimes, there are even limits to how tight-fisted I can be. Blah.

... Some people collect stamps/coins/stickers. Some people bird watch. But for me, I like to experiment with weird bubble tea flavor combinations. And while some experiments produce cool and tasty (well, at least still drinkable), some results in the most abysmal liquid that I eventually still pour down the drain my throat.

One of the worst combination that I have ever encountered: CHAMPAGNE GRAPE + GREEN TEA. Just downright disgusting, I tell you. The grape flavor is soured and the green tea makes it worst with it slight bitterness. This is even worst tasting than my previous mistake of ORANGE + GREEN TEA because that was still drinkable for me. Here I am posting this, to ensure that this mistake WILL NOT happen again because damnit, bubble tea prices are rising for god-knows-what reason BECAUSE they certainly are not more popular. The craze had already died down for ages, so WHY ARE THEY JACKING UP THE PRICES?! Ridiculous.

Hmmm, maybe the next time I want to spend $1.50, I will get... ALMOND + RED TEA? Even though I have no liking for almond... it might be good. Or maybe it will top my worst tasting combination list :)

Wondering if I should pick mytuesdayvengeance, tuesdaystorms, nobodyeveris, or are these too emo-ish? Wouldn't want to give people the wrong impression after all.

[3] JUST ME perfume by PARIS HILTON. Surprise, surprise. Of all celebrities and their perfume lines, I picked hers. But it's actually quite pretty and smells very sweet, like fruits and well... cotton candy. Reminds me of my childhood, haha, nah. It smells good.

[4] CLUTCH BAG by GUESS. Retailing at a whooping price of $140, rounded up. Well. It is branded after all. But it's really pretty. Too bad I can't afford it...

[5] New HEADPHONES, preferably by APPLE. Mine is really old looking now. And Atiqah keeps urging me to get a new pair. So buy them for me?

[6] COSMETICS from M.A.C. Thanks to iCiNG, I now adore this brand even though I do not own anything from it. See how easily influenced I am?! >.> Advertisers love people like me. Haha.

[7] CLOTHES and more CLOTHES. Considering the fact that I just performed wardrobe taming recently, aka, throwing 75% of my clothes away... I need clothes. ASAP. Or you will end up seeing my rewear the same freaking thing over and over again. Which is just... ugly. Really.

[8] New HANDPHONE. Preferably from NOKIA or SONY ERICSSON. My brother promised to buy me a new phone, with the condition being that I get 10 points and less for O Levels. Which is sort of hard to achieve now. Damn. Should have bargained a bit more. Blah.

[9] Buy new BOOKS. I have fallen in love with tons and tons of new books ever since that little trip to BORDERS with Kim. So many books that I want to buy, even though I still have complete the books that are lying about in my house...

[10] A FIXED COMPUTER. Yeah, preferably something UPGRADED and DURABLE. My computer seems to have this urge to crash at least twice a year. It's... an irritating quirk that wastes frankly too much of my money. And the fact that I have over 7000 songs and a few hundred pictures and half-written pictures and scanlated mangas make my computer very very very valuable to me.

Silver linings in dark clouds [ 22:16 ]

An average sort of day... nothing too drastic or over the moon event happened. And all bad things and good things evened out to make this a neutral day. Yeah.

YAYs
- we now have a Wii. Seriously, how cool is that? It was free too, sort of a 'Welcome to the Dark side, we have cookies' kind of gift, when we switched from Starhub to Singnet.

- I have been successfully indoctrinated into the universe of jpop, aka, I have downloaded a tonne of songs. Illegally.

- I have been reading slash. Of the Mylar variety. And with blood. And braaaains. And Sylar, like duh

NAYs
- my mother is biased. Very blatantly biased indeed. Why? An example to illustrate the inequality. I have a bag strewn across the floor. She snaps at me. My brother dumps his finished newspapers on the floor. She either ignores it or picks it up without snapping or even mentioning anything to him.

- blogger sucks. With its many problems and unprocessed requests requiring me to try again. [edit: See? It fucking happened again! Damn you. That's about the last straw.]

- I have completely lost interest in 'normal' books containing het stuff. >.> I'm completely hooked on a diet of slash, slash, and more slash. Oh bugger.
